Chipolopolo Eliminated From 2024 Futsal Africa Cup

The Moroccan national futsal team beat Chipolopolo 13-0 in the third group stage match as part of the ongoing TotalEnergies CAF Futsal AFCON.

The match took place at the Moulay Abdellah indoor sporting arena in Rabat last night, with Moroccan captain Soufiane El Mesrar scoring the first goal in the second minute. The Atlas Lions reached 8-0 by halftime.

Zambia managed two shots on target but failed to hit the back of the net.

Chipolopolo defeated Ghana 5-2 in the opening match last week.

The loss places Zambia third in the Group A matches with just 3 points. Angola finished in second place with 6 points, and the Moroccan Atlas Lions finished first place with 9 points.

Zambia Coach Andrea Cristoforetti says he is not disappointed with the result against Morocco, but believes Zambia could have won against Angola.

He added that Zambia must work to boost futsal in the country if they want to reach the level of play shown by Morocco.
