Zimbabwe Deny Zambia Cosafa U20 Final on Home Soil

The Zambia Under-20 National Team has failed to make it to the finals of the Cosafa Championship on home soil after losing 2-1 to Zimbabwe at Nkana Stadium in Kitwe.

The host team had a bright start with a 35th minute header from Prince Mumba but Zimbabwe bounced back a minute later through Andrew Mbeba.

Mbeba capitalized on some lax goalkeeping from Bradley Mweene to score the equalizer for the young warriors.

Zambia who looked second best fell behind in the 73rd minute through a Delic Murimba goal and could not find a way back in the game.

The host nation will now play a consolation third and fourth playoff with defending champions South Africa playing Zimbabwe in the final.

South Africa beat Zimbabwe 1-0 in the other semifinal.

Zambia has come short on two successive occasion with a first round ejection last year.
