Kalabo Welcomes Surge in Young Farmers at 98th Agricultural and Commercial Show

Deputy Secretary to the Cabinet, Dr Oliver Kalabo, has praised the strong participation of farmers exhibiting at the 98th Agricultural and Commercial Show, describing it as an encouraging sign for the agricultural sector.

Dr Kalabo said he was particularly pleased to see a significant number of young farmers taking part, adding that their presence reflects the growing interest among young people in pursuing agriculture as a viable and rewarding career.

Speaking after touring exhibitions at the Young Farmers' Hall, Dr Kalabo noted that the increasing number of exhibitors highlights the need for additional exhibition space to accommodate more farmers in future editions of the show.

Meanwhile, Agricultural and Commercial Show Society President Rene Lourens said the Society is implementing an expansion programme to increase exhibition capacity. He explained that additional space has already been made available in the livestock section to accommodate more farmers wishing to exhibit their produce and other agricultural products.
