HH to arrive in Nairobi, Kenya for the Africa-France Summit.

President Hakainde Hichilema will arrive in Nairobi, Kenya today joining other Leaders at the Africa-France Partnership innovation and Growth Summit. The event known as the “Forward Africa Summit” will be held on the 11th and 12th of May, outside of France for the first time and co-hosted by Kenya’s President William Ruto and French President Emmanuel Macron.

President Hichilema over the next two days aims to amplify African voices in global decision making through elevated partnerships between Africa and France. Foreign Affairs Minister Mulambo Haimbe reports that President Hichilema will focus on seven key areas to benefit Zambia including Reform of the International financial architecture, Energy transition, Green Industrialisation, digital innovation, sustainable agriculture, health systems and coordinated climate action.

Mr Haimbe says that Zambia wishes to showcase its commitment to ethical practice and innovative solutions via responsible mining, renewable energy, fairer global finance, stronger health infrastructure and digital connectivity.

The Foreign Affairs Minister says that President Hichilema’s participation reiterates Zambia’s wish to strengthen Africa-Europe relations that promote African innovation, solidarity and trade on the world stage. Mr Haimbe stresses that President Hichilema’s attendance is aligned with Zambia’s Foreign Policy priorities and helps advance Zambia’s leadership in shaping Africa’s future.
