UPND Wins Muchinda Ward By-Election in Serenje

The ruling UPND has won the Muchinda Ward seat in a local government by-election in Serenje.

UPND candidate Nicholas Munsele secured victory after polling 844 votes out of more than 1,700 votes cast in Thursday's poll.

Muchinda Ward Returning Officer Smart Muwowo announced that UPPZ candidate Garrison Musonda came second with 679 votes, while FDD candidate Ronald Chola received 271 votes.

The victory allows the UPND to retain the seat in Serenje District, Central Province, maintaining its presence in the area.
