PF Secretary General Admits Leadership Rivalries Causing Confusion

Patriotic Front (PF) Secretary General Raphael Nakacinda has acknowledged that internal rivalries among the party’s many aspiring leaders are creating confusion, but maintained that the ruling UPND’s alleged attempts to infiltrate and weaken the PF are failing.

Speaking at party conferences, Mr. Nakacinda stressed that the PF is not short of leadership options ahead of the 2026 general election.

“First of all, we are not bankrupt in terms of leadership. Leadership that will take us into 2026 is a lot,” he said.

However, he admitted that the abundance of potential candidates has created internal friction and urged ambitious members to “just relax.”

Mr. Nakacinda added that the PF is undergoing a transformation process to strengthen party unity and rebuild its structures nationwide, saying any current issues would be resolved during the rebuilding effort.

He also issued a warning to inactive members, cautioning that those not contributing to the party’s work risk losing their positions.
