HH visits Mansa District for Labour Day Commemoration
President Hichilema arrived in Mansa today to officiate this year’s Labour Day celebrations, where scores of Mansa residents and workers from different sectors and organisations gathered at Kaole stadium.
The President later paid tribute on Facebook to the “tireless efforts of the workers who sacrifice and labour to drive our economy and our nation forward.”
“Your contributions are invaluable, and we recognise your dedication. Happy Labour Day, Zambia!” Continued Hichilema.
Luapula Province Minister Nason Musonda told the crowds that taking Labour Day celebrations to Mansa has given the people of Luapula immense pride and confidence in the New Dawn administration.
The government’s decision to hold the event in Mansa is a strong demonstration of its commitment to inclusivity and unity, underscoring its work in governing all parts of the country.
This year’s Labour Day is being held under the theme 'Shaping Zambia’s Future of Work Through Home-Grown Solutions for Inclusive Economic Growth.'
As the country readied itself to celebrate Labour Day, the Kulima Tower Drivers' Association commended the government for implementing a minimum wage for its drivers.
Chrispin Zapasi, one of Kulima Towers’ drivers, thanked the government for providing security amidst the industry's heightened challenges.
