ECZ Extends Voter Registration Deadline By 15 Days

The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) announced this morning a 15-day extension to the ongoing voter registration exercise. Originally scheduled to conclude today, registration will now continue until Wednesday 26 November 2025.

Addressing the media, ECZ Chairperson Mrs Mwangala Zaloumis SC provided an update on the registration process. "We are particularly encouraged by the enthusiasm and civic responsibility shown by citizens who have turned out to register and update their details," Zaloumis said. "This demonstrates the growing commitment of Zambians to participate in shaping the future of our democracy."

The registration exercise has been conducted in six phases across the country. The extension aims to ensure all eligible citizens—including those who have not yet registered, those needing to update their details, and those with lost or damaged voter cards—have equal access to registration centres.

Mrs Zaloumis emphasised that the Commission has no plans for further extensions beyond 26 November 2025, urging all unregistered voters to take advantage of this final opportunity and not to leave it to the final day.
