Queues Are Long But 5 Years Is Longer

“Yes the queues are long but FIVE years is longer,” UPND Alliance running mate Mutale Nalumango has stated on social media.

Her comments echo an earlier post by academic and UCT lecturer Sishuwa Sishuwa who shared video footage of the long queues that formed early this morning when he wrote, “The queue is long but 5 years is longer! Whoever you support, do not be left wishing you had stayed the course. #ZambiaDecides2021”

With reports that the vote is proceeding slowly in areas where the opposition are expected to win a majority of the votes UPND Presidential Spokesperson Anthony Bwalya has encouraged voters to stay in line and let their voices be heard.

“We have noted with delight the visibly high voter turnout across numerous polling stations across the country. We are also especially pleased that the youth have decided to take full responsibility for the future they deserve by turning up in numbers to exercise their constitutional right,” Bwalya commented.

“We wish to implore all our citizens to remain patient, peaceful but vigilant and watchful, and ensure that the full course of today's democratic process is respected by all. Today is the day we reclaim our country,” he concluded.
