ECZ Allows NDC Rallies to Go Ahead

Earlier this week the police cancelled all of the NDC’s rallies in Roan constituency. This meant that only the PF were campaigning freely in the constituency ahead of tomorrow by-election.

Reacting to this ban the NDC leader Chishimba Kambwili threatened to obtain an injunction to stop the by-election from going ahead. Mr Kambwili was outraged that their rallies had been cancelled which each political party was clearly allocated days for final rallies during a stakeholder meeting.

The ECZ responded to his complaint by by-passing the police ruling and have allowed the NDC to go ahead.
