Floods Devastate Kitwe

Recent rains in Kitwe have cause significant damage to roads and bridges, leaving them impassable.

District Commissioner Binwell Mpundu stated that the road network in the city had been severely impacted. Mr Mpundu also disclosed that three bridges connecting residential areas namely Nkana East, Chipata, Mulenga and Ndeke, Chiwala and Jambo drive have been reported damaged.

His office has received several complaints from the public over the potholes that have developed on the roads, posing a danger to motorists. The DC has however, assured motorists that patching of the affected areas will commence at the end of the rain season. 

He has appealed to motorists using roads in bad shape to be cautious and care for other road users.
