Chishimba Blasts Lungu 2021 Wish

Saviour Chishimba has said that Zambia does not belong to Edgar Lungu “but to the maker of heaven and earth”.

Commenting on President Lungu’s recent statement while touring the Copperbelt that he wants to rule until 2026 to fully accomplish the initiatives that the ruling PF is implementing, Chishimba urged him to read Jesus Christ’s parable of a rich fool.

Lungu told the people of Garneton in Kitwe, that the PF risked losing power in 2021 if the ruling party failed to fulfil the many promises it had made to the people prior to assuming power.

“We promised people a lot of things. And [if] we don’t deliver; we are out in 2021. Me, I don’t want to go back. I want to finish 2021, 2026 elo nkaye. So that naine nkaleshimika nati kwena twalibomba. (I want to look back with pride that we really worked),” said President Lungu who also urged party leaders not to think they were wiser than others simply because they were elected to lead.

But Chishimba, the leader of the opposition United Progressive People (UPP) party, urged Zambians not to pay attention to President Lungu, saying that the President’s own corrupt practices had condemned the poor to untold misery and that lay behind a future downfall.

Chishimba warned that matters would soon come to a head.  “We in the United Progressive People (UPP), have said it before that tomorrow is not promised to any man because it is only God who knows the future. President Lungu, who claims to be a Christian, must read the Jesus Christ’s parable of a rich fool. In Luke 12:19 – 21, it’s written, ‘And I’ll say to myself, you have plenty of grain laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry…But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself? This is how it will be with whoever stores up things for themselves but is not rich toward God.’ These words of prophecy shall come to pass, then the nation will know that Zambia does not belong to Edgar Lungu, but to the maker of heaven and earth,” Chishimba said.

“We urge Zambians not to mind Edgar Chagwa Lungu because his expected end is known by God. He has sealed his own fate by his naughtiness and placement of Zambia under Chinese state capture. His own massive corrupt practices that have condemned the poor to more untold misery are his undoing. Lungu can trust in his looted public funds and arrogantly fool Zambians, but he cannot fool the creator. We urge Zambians to never relent in raising a cry before God.”

He urged President Lungu not to fool Zambians whom he said had the potential to collectively bring the PF rule to an end and asked him to learn from the example of the UNIP under Dr Kenneth Kaunda, whose last five-year term was cut short by the people.

He added that the “stolen money and power have blinded the Head of State” not to see that he was being misled.  “Our free advice to Lungu is that he should not take Zambians for granted. As masters, the people of Zambia can collectively bring the PF rule to end. Clearly, Lungu thinks that he will bribe his way into the Concourt to declare himself eligible to stand in 2021, but a day will arrive. He will know that the people are superior to the courts. Lungu must not mislead himself through hired crowds and fraudulent by-elections. Stolen money and power have blinded him and he may not see it now, but the ground is boiling like a volcano. When the volcano erupts, Lungu will remember where he came from,” said Chishimba.
