Clashes with Chinese Miners In Kitwe Leave 16 Year Old Zambian Shot

Ten Chinese nationals from the Bolo Mine in Kitwe have been arrested for shooting a 16-year-old Zambian boy who they found collecting fire wood from within the mining area.

Charity Katanga – Copperbelt Province Police Commissioner – has confirmed the story and identified the victim as young John Mumba.

The Chinese culprits are being held in custody awaiting identification by the victim who is in a serious but stable condition. The suspects will be charged with grievous bodily harm.
