EU Observers Warn of Fake Statement Circulating Online

The European Union Election Observation Mission (EU EOM) to Zambia has warned the public about a fabricated document circulating on social media, falsely presented as an official EU EOM "Statement" on the verification of Gen 20 forms.

The Mission confirmed it neither issued nor endorsed the document, stressing that it remains independent and impartial and backs no candidate or party. It warned that the use of its photographs, the EU flag or its logo does not make online content genuine, and urged citizens to rely only on its official channels at eueomzambia2026.eu.
