Eagles Mealie Meal Prices Reduced

The Zambia National Service (ZNS) has cut the price of its Eagles brand mealie meal, offering consumers a more affordable option for the nation's staple food.

Under the new price schedule, a 25-kilogram bag of breakfast meal now costs K175 on order, while roller meal of the same size sells for K135. On the retail shelf, the 25-kilogram breakfast meal is priced at K185 and roller meal at K145.

The reduced prices are also available on smaller quantities. A 12.5-kilogram bag of breakfast meal goes for K87 on order and K92 retail, while roller meal in the same size sells at K67.50 on order and K72.50 retail, giving households a range of options to suit different budgets.

The mealie meal is being distributed through the ZNS milling plants in Chongwe, Monze and Mpika, with Eagles mealie meal also available to shoppers at Chawama Market.

According to ZNS, the initiative is aimed at giving consumers an additional source of affordable mealie meal, part of ongoing efforts to keep the country's staple food both available and within reach of ordinary families.

The service has long played a role in producing Eagles mealie meal, having previously stepped in to boost supply and improve access to affordable options for consumers across the country.

The latest price reduction is expected to bring welcome relief to households, reinforcing ZNS's growing contribution to national food security and price stability.
