President Hichilema Directs Immediate Employment of Volunteer Health Workers
President Hakainde Hichilema has ordered that volunteer medical personnel who attended a community engagement in Mporokoso District be recruited without delay.
The President said the volunteer health workers would be brought onto the payroll in acknowledgement of their selfless dedication and commitment to serving their communities. He confirmed that the list of names presented to him would be acted upon immediately.
He also pledged that works on the Mporokoso-Kawambwa Road and the Mporokoso-Kaputa-Mununga Road would be carried out once he is re-elected.
Addressing residents at Bulangililo Grounds in Mporokoso District, President Hichilema said the road projects were intended to strengthen connectivity and ease the movement of people, goods and essential services.
The President said Mporokoso had already gained from a broad range of Government development programmes, among them the Constituency Development Fund (CDF), the Social Cash Transfer Programme and the Free Education Policy. He stressed that development was being delivered equitably in every part of the country.
He further announced that Government would raise the allocation of farming inputs, including fertiliser, under the Farmer Input Support Programme (FISP).
President Hichilema said 2.5 million children had returned to the classroom under the Free Education Policy, including more than 4,000 learners in Mporokoso District.
The President appealed to young people still searching for work not to lose hope, saying further employment opportunities would be created once he is returned to office.
He urged the people of Mporokoso to vote UPND in the August 13 General Election to secure the continuation of the Government's development agenda.
The community engagement was attended by Chief Muporokoso of Mporokoso District.
