In a message of condolence, the President said the country had received news of the Chief's passing with great sadness.
President Hichilema said Paramount Chief Mpezeni played a significant role in preserving Ngoni culture and traditions while promoting unity among his people. He added that the Chief's distinguished service and leadership would remain an enduring part of Zambia's national heritage.
The President said the nation stood in solidarity with the Ngoni Royal Establishment, the bereaved family and the entire Ngoni community during this period of mourning, and wished the late traditional leader eternal peace.
