Mulambo Haimbe Donates 400 Mattresses to Evelyn Hone College

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Lusaka Central Member of Parliament Mulambo Haimbe has presented 400 mattresses to Evelyn Hone College in response to growing concerns from students and management about inadequate bedding at the institution.

Mr. Haimbe revealed that the donation is part of a larger initiative that has seen 1,000 mattresses purchased and distributed across several learning institutions within the Lusaka Central Constituency. He explained that the gesture is intended to address the persistent sleeping difficulties experienced by students, which have had a direct impact on their ability to focus and perform academically. He called on both students and college management to take proper care of the mattresses, ensuring they serve not only current learners but also those who will enroll in the years ahead.

The MP also took the opportunity to officially launch the Haimbe Media App, a new digital platform designed to improve access to information and strengthen communication between his office and the residents of Lusaka Central Constituency.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, Evelyn Hone College Board Chairperson Daniel Chuunga expressed his gratitude, noting that the donation would significantly improve sleeping conditions on campus, lift student morale, and contribute to a more supportive learning environment overall.

Student Union President Clinton Nyambe echoed those sentiments, describing the contribution as a meaningful investment in student welfare that would have a positive ripple effect on academic performance and campus life at the institution.
