"Arise and Soar" — All Eyes on Solwezi as Zambia Marks National Youth Day

Young people across Solwezi are gearing up for what promises to be a landmark Youth Day celebration, with President Hakainde Hichilema set to officiate at Independence Stadium under the theme "Arise and Soar."

Anticipation in North-Western Province's capital is running high, with youths telling ZNBC News they plan to turn out in force for the occasion — viewing it as both a celebration of young Zambians' contribution to national development and a demonstration of the Government's commitment to their welfare. Many pointed to policies introduced under President Hichilema's administration as evidence of that commitment in action.

Solwezi Independence Stadium is set to host senior government officials, dignitaries, and members of the public alongside the thousands of young people expected to attend. North-Western Province Minister Robert Lihefu welcomed the President's visit as a signal of Government's determination to engage with citizens beyond Lusaka and champion development across all regions of the country.

President Hichilema arrived in Solwezi this morning, touching down at the local airport to a warm reception, and has participated in a wreath-laying ceremony to mark the occasion.
