Government Procures Medical Equipment for Kasama Health Facilities

The Zambian Government has taken a significant step towards improving healthcare delivery in Kasama District with the procurement of essential medical equipment for six health facilities across the area.

The equipment, purchased using allocations from the 2025 Constituency Development Fund, will be distributed to three health posts and three maternity annexes within the district. The investment represents a targeted effort to address gaps in frontline healthcare provision, ensuring that facilities serving some of the most vulnerable communities are properly resourced.

The procurement is expected to have a particularly meaningful impact on maternal and child health services, an area that remains a critical priority for the government. By equipping maternity annexes with the necessary tools and supplies, health workers will be better positioned to provide safe and effective care to expectant mothers and newborns.

The initiative also underscores the growing importance of the Constituency Development Fund as a mechanism for delivering tangible improvements at the community level. By channelling resources directly into local health infrastructure, the government is demonstrating its commitment to decentralising development and ensuring that the benefits of public investment reach citizens in every corner of the country.

The move has been welcomed as a positive contribution to Kasama's healthcare landscape.
