Government Drives Sports Development with New Multi-Sports Facility for Kaputa

Government's commitment to nationwide sports infrastructure development has received a major boost with the announcement of a new multi-sports facility for Kaputa District, Northern Province, set for construction next year.

Sports Minister Elvis Nkandu, MP, revealed the transformative project while officiating at the Elvis Nkandu End of Year Basketball Tournament in Kaputa, underscoring government's strategic vision to democratize access to quality sports infrastructure across all regions of Zambia.

"This government is determined to unlock sporting talent in every corner of our nation," Minister Nkandu declared, highlighting the administration's inclusive approach to sports development that extends beyond traditional focus areas.

The Minister emphasized government's progressive sports policy, which actively promotes all disciplines—from basketball to athletics—ensuring young Zambians have diverse pathways to excel regardless of their chosen sport.

In a gesture demonstrating government's hands-on commitment to grassroots development, Mr. Nkandu personally donated basketballs and sports equipment to participating teams, reinforcing the administration's investment in youth talent development at the community level.
