Zelenskyy Invites Hichilema to Ukraine as He Congratulates Him on Re-election

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has congratulated President Hakainde Hichilema on his re-election, describing the outcome as a reflection of Zambians' confidence in his leadership and their desire for continued democratic development.

In a congratulatory message, President Zelenskyy said Ukraine deeply values its friendly relations with Zambia and appreciates Lusaka's support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, in line with the United Nations Charter and international law.

He went on to express Ukraine's readiness to deepen bilateral cooperation with Zambia in areas of mutual interest, as well as within international organisations, and extended an invitation to President Hichilema to visit Ukraine.

President Zelenskyy also wished the Zambian Head of State good health and success in the discharge of his duties, and wished the people of Zambia peace, harmony and prosperity in the years ahead.

The message from Kyiv adds to a growing wave of congratulations President Hichilema has received from world leaders and international institutions since his re-election.
