HH Urges Voters to Back UPND at Final Campaign Stop in Luapula

President Hakainde Hichilema has pledged continued investment in agriculture and other key sectors to improve livelihoods and enhance food security.

Speaking during a rally in Milenge, President Hichilema pledged to increase FISP beneficiaries towards the targeted 10 million tonnes of maize production.

He also pledged to construct a full-fledged district hospital, improve roads to ease the transportation of farmers’ produce, attract more investment and build more schools.

President Hichilema said the UPND would also expand social cash transfers, cash for work, youth recruitment and free education, and urged the electorate to vote for the party on Thursday.

In Chembe, President Hichilema pledged more social cash transfers, cash-for-work opportunities, business opportunities, health facilities, clean and safe drinking water and continued agriculture support.

He urged the people of Chembe to re-elect the UPND to enable government to do more.

In Chipili, President Hichilema pledged improved access to clean and running water, rural electrification and better roads.

He said the Food Reserve Agency would continue buying maize, with farmers expected to be paid within two days, while government would increase the number of farmers receiving fertiliser support.

He also pledged to complete the district administration offices, police infrastructure and Mwenda Boarding School, improve Chipili Health Centre and make its mortuary functional.

Other pledges include construction of a district hospital, upgrading the Old Kamwanabwa Road, construction of a school and modern bus stop, and employment of more nurses and teachers currently serving as volunteers.

President Hichilema said his final stop at the Mwansabombwe rally marked the completion of his tour of districts across all 10 provinces, and urged voters to support the UPND to protect the development gains made so far.
