More World Leaders Congratulate President Hichilema on Re-Election
Fresh messages of goodwill have continued to pour in from around the world, as more heads of state and governments congratulate President Hakainde Hichilema on his re-election, adding to the wave of international recognition following Zambia's peaceful 2026 General Election.
From Africa, the Federal Republic of Nigeria extended its congratulations to President Hichilema on securing a second term. Abuja also commended the people of Zambia for exercising their democratic rights in a peaceful, orderly and responsible manner, praising the maturity shown throughout the electoral process.
The message of solidarity reached across the Atlantic, where the Co-Presidents of the Republic of Nicaragua, Commander Daniel Ortega Saavedra and Comrade Rosario Murillo, sent their warm congratulations. They said the President's re-election reaffirmed the confidence of the Zambian people in his leadership and his continued guidance of the nation.
From the Gulf, the United Arab Emirates added its voice, with President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Vice-President and Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who is also Ruler of Dubai, congratulating President Hichilema on his victory.
