Muslim Body ZAFEMU Congratulates President Hichilema, Calls for Peace and Unity
Zambian Muslims have joined the rest of the nation in celebrating President-elect Hakainde Hichilema's re-election, with the Zambia Federation of Muslim Organisations (ZAFEMU) calling for peace, unity and cooperation as the country enters a new five-year chapter.
In its message of congratulations, ZAFEMU wished the President-elect wisdom, strength and good health as he prepares to continue leading the nation. The umbrella body said his victory should be seen not merely as a political achievement, but as a moment for all Zambians to celebrate their country and look to the future as one people.
"For ZAFEMU, this is first and foremost a moment to celebrate Zambia, pray for our nation and wish our President well," the organisation said.
ZAFEMU stressed that the country's continued progress would depend on peace, unity, mutual respect and cooperation among citizens, regardless of their political views or backgrounds. It prayed for the Almighty to guide President Hichilema in his duties and to grant him the wisdom to make decisions that promote peace, stability and meaningful development.
The body also commended Zambians for taking part in the democratic process, saying the country had once again proved that its people remain united by a shared home and a common future despite their differences.
ZAFEMU pledged to keep promoting peace, compassion and social harmony, and to continue working with the Government and other stakeholders for the common good and the wellbeing of communities nationwide.
The organisation closed its message with prayers for lasting peace and prosperity for the President-elect, the people of Zambia and the country as a whole.
