Inclusive Voting Environment Reflects Change in Constitution

Peaceful elections are underway across Zambia, with voters of all ages and backgrounds turning out in numbers to cast their ballots.

From young mothers arriving in the early hours with babies on their backs, to elderly voters and persons with disabilities assisted by police officers and fellow members of the public, Zambians have shown up to make their voices heard.

The strong turnout reflects the UPND's commitment to expanding representation, including the introduction of a mixed-member proportional representation system designed to ensure more Zambians are represented at every level of government.

In Chipata Central and Chipata North, voters braved the early morning cold to take their place in the queues, a testament to the determination of citizens across the country to exercise their democratic right.
