ECZ and Al Ghurair Confident of Meeting 28 July Ballot Production Deadline
The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ), in partnership with Al Ghurair Printing Company, says it remains on course to complete the printing, packaging and airfreight of ballot papers to Zambia by 28 July, ahead of the 13 August General Election.
ECZ Commissioner Zevyanji Sinkala said the Commission is committed to ensuring all ballot papers are produced by the end of the month to allow sufficient time for their delivery and distribution before polling day.
Speaking during a tour of Al Ghurair's printing facility in Dubai, the company's General Manager, Lakshmanan Ganapathy, revealed that the serialisation of presidential ballot papers has now been completed.
Mr Ganapathy also reported that parliamentary ballot papers for 75 constituencies, amounting to approximately 2.2 million ballots, have already been printed.
He further stated that mayoral ballot papers have been completed for 18 districts, while printing of ward councillor ballot papers is expected to commence later this evening.
