Tonse Pamodzi Alliance Lumezi North Candidate Clement Mwale Dies

The Tonse Pamodzi Alliance has announced the death of its Lumezi North parliamentary candidate, Clement Mwale, who died in the early hours of Thursday, July 16, 2026.

The announcement was made in a statement by the alliance’s Eastern Province Provincial Chairman, Maxson Nkhoma.

Mr Mwale was the Tonse Pamodzi Alliance candidate for Lumezi North and previously served as Lumezi Council Chairperson from 2016 to 2021.

The alliance said his death was a loss to the party and the wider community, extending condolences to his family and the people of Lumezi District.

The party described Mr Mwale as a committed member who contributed to public service during his time as council chairperson.

The alliance added that it will formally notify the Returning Officer of the death of its parliamentary candidate in line with electoral procedures.
