President Hichilema Takes Campaign Across the Provinces

President Hakainde Hichilema spent the weekend travelling in a series of campaign engagements, and is set to continue the drive today with visits to Mansa and Kasama.

The weekend opened on a reflective note on Saturday, with the President joining worshippers at the Solwezi Airport Seventh-day Adventist Church in North-Western Province, where he gave thanks and led the congregation in a song of worship.

On Sunday he arrived at Chinsali Airstrip in Muchinga Province. The President called on UPND members to push for a landslide across every elective position, from councillors and mayors to Members of Parliament and the presidency. He pointed to free education, now enshrined in law, and the enhanced Constituency Development Fund as proof of delivery, and encouraged parents to keep their children in school.

On Sunday afternoon he moved to the Copperbelt, where in Kitwe the President framed the 13 August general election as a clear choice between continued national progress and a return to the conditions his government inherited in 2021. Describing the province as a strategic driver of development, he urged party members to remain united and work together to secure victory, arguing that unity is essential to sustaining development programmes and improving lives.

According to State House, the campaign continues today in Mansa and Kasama, before the President travels to Mongu in Western Province tomorrow, underlining his commitment to driving development across all ten provinces.
