ZDA Announces US$19 Billion Investment Milestone Since 2021

The Zambia Development Agency (ZDA) has recorded US$19 billion in actualised investments between 2021 and the end of the second quarter of 2026, representing an almost 20% realisation rate against total investment commitments of US$97.07 billion registered during the same period.

Speaking during a media briefing in Lusaka, ZDA Director General Albert Halwampa said the achievement demonstrates sustained investor confidence in Zambia’s industrialisation agenda and in key productive sectors that contribute to export growth, job creation, and long-term economic development.

Mr Halwampa said the realised investments were generated through 838 enterprises that were successfully monitored out of 2,332 companies that either received investment licences or expanded their operations during the review period.

He noted that the manufacturing and mining sectors accounted for the largest share of actualised investments, contributing more than 73% of the total investment value recorded.

Mr Halwampa added that other sectors that attracted significant investment included transport, energy, agriculture, construction, information and communications technology (ICT), tourism, real estate, education, and health.
