Lusaka–Ndola Road Project Costs Government Nothing- HH

President Hakainde Hichilema says the Lusaka–Ndola Dual Carriageway is being delivered without placing any financial burden on the Government.

He said the dual carriageway is being constructed under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) worth about US$650 million, compared with the PF's earlier plan, which he said would have cost the Government more than US$1 billion.

The President said the project is progressing well and urged Zambians to vote for the UPND in next month's general election to ensure its successful completion.

Addressing the crowds gathered at 10 Miles, he appealed to voters not to return to what he described as an era of political violence and economic instability.

President Hichilema also questioned the opposition's bid to form Government, arguing that many of its leaders support policies already implemented by his administration. He said there was little justification for changing the current leadership if there was broad agreement on key Government programmes.

During the stop, the President directed that four volunteer nurses who had gathered along the roadside be recruited into the public service next month.

In the evening the President Hichilema held a rally in Chibombo District, Central Province where he received a warm welcome from thousands of residents who lined the Great North Road.
