Texxon Energy to Build $175m Coal Plant in Sinazongwe

Texxon Energy Limited is expected to contruct a 180-megawatt coal-fired power plant in Sinazongwe District, Southern Province.

The coal plant is valued at 175 million US dollars and is predicted to be finished within 3 years, creating 1,200 jobs.

The project was announced by Texxon Energy Limited consultancy firm, El-Elyon consulting services Social Development Officer Khumbilani Chintudu. The details were disclosed during an Environmental and Social Impact Assessment scoping meeting with the Sinazongwe District Development Coordinating Committee.

The million dollar project is expected to fuel employment and drive the economy.
