Wonderful Group Backs Invest Zambia Conference with K1 Million Sponsorship

The Zambia Development Agency (ZDA) has received a K1 million sponsorship from the Wonderful Group of Companies to support the hosting of the Invest Zambia International Conference, in a significant boost to President Hakainde Hichilema's drive to position Zambia as Africa's premier investment destination.

The contribution, formalised during a cheque handover ceremony in Lusaka, underscores the growing confidence of Zambian businesses in the government's New Dawn economic agenda, one built on opening markets, attracting foreign capital, and creating sustainable employment for ordinary Zambians.

ZDA Director General Albert Halwampa confirmed that investors from across the world have already registered their intention to attend, signalling strong international appetite for Zambia's expanding economic opportunities. He stressed that the conference must ensure deserving investors, companies, and local entrepreneurs are properly recognised — a message that reflects the government's commitment to inclusive growth that reaches communities beyond the capital.

Mr. Halwampa also called on the Wonderful Group to deepen its own footprint by expanding operations and creating more jobs — a direct echo of the administration's broader ambition to drive down unemployment and build a diversified, productive economy.

For its part, the Wonderful Group's Acting CEO Roy Mwamba reaffirmed the company's commitment to adding value to Zambia's natural resources and generating much-needed foreign exchange, priorities that align closely with the government's mineral beneficiation and export diversification strategy. Mr. Mwamba also pledged to attract additional investors and strengthen the company's partnership with the ZDA going forward.
