Zambia targets over US$5 billion in new deals at Invest-Zambia conference
Zambia is aiming for more than US$5 billion in investment and deals at this year's Invest-Zambia International Conference (IZIC), as the country continues to present itself as one of Africa's most attractive places to invest.
IZIC is hosted by the Zambia Development Agency (ZDA) and is the country's flagship investment promotion platform. The second edition will run from 9 to 11 December in Lusaka, bringing investors, government leaders, financiers, development partners and the private sector together in one place.
More than 2,500 delegates, 50 speakers and 100 exhibitors are expected at the three-day event. It is designed to identify opportunities, build strategic partnerships and move key projects forward.
This year's theme is "Promoting Investment and Trade", with a focus on unlocking new commercial opportunities across the economy. According to ZDA, the aim is to turn interest into signed deals that drive sustainable growth in trade and make a real difference to local livelihoods.
The conference builds on the success of last year's first edition, which made IZIC a key meeting point for local and international investors looking to do business in Zambia.
For Zambians, the stakes are clear. Every deal signed in Lusaka could create jobs, help local businesses grow and bring the benefits of investment closer to communities across the country. With December fast approaching, IZIC is set to be one of the most important dates on Zambia's economic calendar.
