Chipata-Chadiza Road to be Completed This Year

Construction of the 65 kilometre-long road from Chipata to Chadiza is on track to be completed this year, contractor Essof Alloo has confirmed.

The road, which is expected to boost economic growth by easing the transportation of goods and services in Eastern Province, will adhere to the highest standard of workmanship, Essof Alloo has reassured. Completion of the road by the end of the year will also keep it in line with the current deadlines set by the government. “You have an independent consultant who oversees the quality standards, so you can be rest assured that this road will be delivered to the highest of standards and within the stipulated time,” Mr Alloo noted.

Progress made on the construction of the road includes the delivery of cement and machinery as well as the development of designs for bridges along the route.

Upon recently visiting the site, Housing and Urban Development Minister Charles Milupi commented that he was satisfied with the progress being made. “Employment will be created, wealth will be created, opportunities will be created and people will be empowered,” Minister Milupi commented during his visit.
