Energy Regulation Board Reduces Fuel Pump Prices
A slight decline in global fuel prices, coupled with the strengthening of the Kwacha against the United States Dollar, has led to a significant reduction in fuel prices at the pump for Zambian consumers.
Today, the Energy Regulation Board (ERB) announced the downward pricing revision for petroleum products, including Petrol, Diesel/LSG, Kerosene and Jet A-I. The revised prices will come into effect in May.
Petrol will cost K32.14/litre compared to 34.98 in April. Diesel and Kerosene will drop by K2.85 and K2.68, respectively. Jet A-I will see the biggest drop, from K32.51/litre to K29.44/litre, representing a 9.44% change.
All the fuel products are set to reduce in price by more than 8%, providing welcome relief to consumers.
Lower prices at the pump directly eases the cost of living for Zambians, making transport, goods and services more affordable for households and businesses alike.
