Mubanga Cleared For Congo Clash

Kelvin Mubanga, the Chipolopolo and Zesco United midfielder, has been cleared for tonight’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier after injury concerns. Zambia are facing Congo Brazzaville later at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.

Mubanga has only just recovered from a hamstring injury which he sustained several weeks ago, but according to the Chipolopolo Medical Team, he has been working hard and training to be available for selection.

His return will boost the spirits of his team-mates.

Captain Lubambo Musonda and China-based striker Evans Kangwa, however, are out of the match against Congo. Mubanga’s fitness, therefore, comes as welcome news.

Zambia are looking for a maiden World Cup qualification. They face Niger next week.
