MP Calls For Agriculture Sector To Be Revolutionised

Lusaka Central Member of Parliament Margaret Mwanakatwe has called for the agriculture sector in Zambia to be ‘revolutionised’ in order to alleviate hunger during the coronavirus pandemic. 

Ms Mwanakatwe, who served as Finance Minister from 2018 to 2019, says the disease has devastated economic sectors on a global scale, including agriculture. 

She has called for women and young people to be trained with agricultural skills in order to become self-sustaining. 

Ms Mwanakatwe also urged Zambians to develop lucrative business ideas to benefit from government sponsorship and strengthen the country’s economy. 

Her comments came during an address to constituents in Lusaka. 

She also assured residents of Lusaka’s Kabaudla area in State Lodge that she would help them acquire title deeds to their land.
