#3 Chishimba Kambwili

He broke ranks from the PF and has since helped pave the way for more democratic involvement in Zambia, through the NDC. This year Kambwili who many see as the true heir to Michael Sata, the late King Cobra has been a stalwart for advancing democratic practice and for advancing causes to help the poor.

Kambwili has a reputation of a “loudmouth” in cosmopolitan circles, so did Sata. People who truly connect with the poor and are real “men of the people” tend to alienate the academics in the ivory tower. People like Kambwili get people engaged in politics and for that he is indispensable. He was significant in the fight against the corruption around the fire tenders and his involvement in the NDC is another step forward for multi-party democracy.
