The Alliance for Community Action group nominated Chama Fumba Pilato to a public resource management monitoring course at Rhodes University in Grahamstown, South Africa. Pilato is now a partner in the Joint Action for Accountability in Zambia (JAAZ).
Pilato is know to be politically conscious and vocal about the struggles facing Zambia, ACA have selected an ideal candidate to advance and help grow as a civic actor. This is an excellent move by noted civil society activist Laura Miti and demonstrative of the ACA’s commitment to strengthening Zambia’s civil institutions through creative means, an activist with the following of Pilato could make a tremendous difference.
The course trains various key players including law makers, media, civic actors, independent activists and others to systematically engage with the public resource management landscape of their respective countries.
A number of Zambian media practitioners, members of parliament, community and civic actors have been trained in this course. Mr Fumba will now join the growing alumni working to enhance public resource management accountability in our nation.
