Lungu has been lying to me – Chitimukulu

Paramount Chitimukulu of the Bemba people in Northern province has complained that President Lungu has been avoiding and lying to him.

In a letter to President Edgar Lungu , the Bemba Paramount Chief complains that President Lungu has not honoured the promises he had made to him during campaigns.

” Mr President I have asked you for a number of requests even the appointment of my loyal subject whom I trust,” reads Chitimukulu’s letter in parts. “But Your Excellency (you) keep lying to me. It is very shocking to note other people are getting their requests heard while am not.”

According to an insider, President Lungu among other promises had promised to appoint Joel Malule Ngo who campaigned with the Chitimukulu for Lungu that he would be given a job. Ngo served as Ambassador to Brazil under Rupiah Banda.

Paramount Chitimukulu says he is disappointed that President Lungu despite committing to mend the relationship with the Bemba Royal Establishment (BRE) after the death of his predecessor Michael Sata, he has not lived upto his word.

” I recall in 2011, I fought with the late President Mr Sata over the Bemba throne, today you are treating me with the same disrespect Mr Sata gave me and I will like to know why. As you come to Northern Province on the 14th November come with answers as you will face the BRE,” Paramount Chitimukulu states.
