Walter Bwalya is a Congolese National…He has No ITC to Play in Zambia

Nkana striker Walter Bwalya also known as Heritier Binene Sabwa is a Democratic Republic of Congo national and not Zambian, fresh details from that country have emerged.

According to records with the Congolese Football Federation (FECOFA), Binene played for Lubumbashi Sports before joining Forest Rangers who later on sold him to Nkana.

But he was not issued with an International Transfer Certificate.
“Binene went AWOL from his previous team here in Congo. No one cleared him,” FECOFA sources said.

“Infact, he is registered as a Congolese with FECOFA and we have his registration as BineneSabwa. So we don’t know when he became a Zamban.”

Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) super division side Lusaka Dynamos have questioned Binene’s eligibility to play in the domestic league without an ITC.

However, Nkana officials and supporters have come out all guns blazing saying Binene was eligible to play in Zambia adding that he was Zambian.

There have further been suggestions that top Zambian officials are trying to hard to give Binene a Zambian passport so that he eventually plays for Zambia.
