The Zambia U-20 national team has finally arrived in Jeju, the host city for Group C of the FIFA World Cup.
FAZ Communications Manager Desmond Katongo confirmed that the team had since checked in at the Hyatt Regency Hotel which will be their base for their group matches.
“The team has arrived in Jeju. We touched down at Jeju International Airport at 22:06 local time. The team has already checked in at the Hyatt Regency Hotel,” Katongo said.
The African champions were holed up in Spain prior to arriving in Korea to pursue their world cup dream.
Zambia is in Group C alongside Portugal, Costa Rica and Iran and will be based on the Island of Jeju.
The opening fixture will be against Portugal on May 21, 2017 at the 29, 346 capacity Jeju World Cup stadium with the second match staged three days later against Iran before concluding their group matches with a tie against Costa Rica at Cheonan Sports Complex on May 29, 2017
