Zambia has slumped seven places on the FIFA/COCA COLA World Rankings to occupy 97th place on the global stage and 26th in Africa.
The spectacular fall is largely due inactivity having only played Cameroon in November last year in a 1-all result in the Russia World Cup qualifier and a modest international friendly against Zimbabwe on March 26, 2017.
Zambia has slipped from 90th to 97th position with three places shy of 100th ranking.
The Chipolopolo’s opponents in the African Nations Championship (CHAN) Swaziland have leaped 88th while their opponents in the 2019 Africa Cup qualifier Mozambique are in 106th position.
Zambia’s 2018 World Cup Group B opponents Algeria, Nigeria and Cameroon are 54th, 40th and 33rd in the World respectively.
Brazil leads the global charts after having waited seven years to be at the command post they surrendered in 2010.
Egypt tops the African charts and sits on 19th in the world.
There is no Cosafa representation with only the Democratic Republic of Congo coming close from Central Africa in sixth position.
